In Coral Gables’ historic district, a 1940s Mediterranean Revival home awaited thoughtful expansion.
The project demanded complete reimagining - from the historical facade bound by district guidelines to interior spaces that needed to serve modern life. We approached every surface, every corner as an opportunity to bridge eras. The material palette emerged from a desire to embrace time rather than resist it. Unlacquered brass hardware was selected to develop its own patina, telling the story of daily life through gentle aging.

We layered textures throughout - tumbled limestone pavers ground the entryway in Mediterranean tradition, while beveled marble details and Belgian linen add refined warmth to living areas.

A Mediterranean pergola shades the outdoor kitchen, creating three distinct yet connected spaces for gathering. The front approach now unfolds through curated landscaping, with thoughtful pathways linking each outdoor area.

Natural wood finishes, specifically chosen for their low-sheen quality, invite touch and connection to craft. Each material decision balances historical authenticity with contemporary refinement.
